this trip marks our third visit to this majestic mystique. at a little over 3 million acres in size, we wanted to explore something different this time rather than the usual sites. we camped in the park but ventured to an old forgotten mining town called rhyolite, right outside of death valley in nevada. this town had a population of 8,000 people during its glory days. however, as the gold started to diminish, so did the people. now it is a ghost town in the high desert. despite its deteriorating appearance, the essence of life still lingers. i hope you enjoy this little adventure with us and can see all the beauty that still remains here.
